Vintage Airplane Baby Shower | Colorado Springs Photographer

Nicole’s Vintage Airplane Baby Shower

I’m so excited that my sister and brother-in-law will be welcoming their first baby in just a couple months! I was honored with being able to host the shower with the theme for the party being vintage airplanes to match the nursery. Planning parties and hosting are something I enjoy doing. I captured a lot of the details from the day and wanted to share them with you!

I hand crafted many of the decor items, and pulled from my stash of photography props, as well as decor around my own home for the rest.

Nothing Bundt Cakes supplied the cake and “bundtinis”, which are always so tasty! I drew and cut out the plane and clouds to top the cake.

The banner was created so that she would be able to re-use Logan’s nursery. The burlap was already pre-cut at Micheal’s so all I had to do was paint on the letters and hot glue the twine to the back.

I’ve found several ideas on Pinterest for airplanes made from candy, but I wanted them to be larger and more tasty than the ones I saw so I used Toblerone and Rolo as the base of the plane, gum wrapped with different types of scrapbook paper for the wings, and mint flavored Life Savers for the wheels. Aren’t they fun?

Even baby Logan was part of the festivities! And look as those cute little shoes! The little saying on the wood is very special in our family. Our mother read us this book as a child and I couldn’t have been more excited when I found this little gem at Gordman’s.

Rather than a traditional guest book, I used a scrapbook where guests could sign and give the parents-to-be advise for their journey. Now, we can add photos to the scrapbook from the party!

Every airplane party should have personal sized in-flight snacks and fun straws.

There were so many generous guests at the party who helped Nicole and Joe get many of the items they need before Logan comes.

Nicole received two bottles of her favorite wine, with one of them containing this adorable tag! I bet she can not wait to drink them.

What a stunning mom-to-be. Tomorrow we are doing her maternity photos and I couldn’t be more excited about them!!
